On Sunday the iPhone Dev Team reported progress on the iPhone 4S baseband unlockas ‘very promising’, and tonight @musclenerd has tweeted the iPhone 4S baseband bootrom has been dumped. This is a significant step in producing an unlock for theiPhone 4S, and will most likely come as an update to the unlocking tool ultrasn0w.

In the meantime, users holding out for an iPhone 4S unlock should stay away from iOS 5.xx firmware updates via iTunes. Stay tuned!
