Facebook Just Cloned A Google+ Feature And Then Stuck Ads Inside Of It

Facebook recently made some changes to its photo viewer that make it look a lot more like Google+. The feature is currently rolling out to Facebook users.

Now, comments flank the picture you’re viewing on its right side, just like on Google+.

A Facebook representative told us on January 30:

As you know we from time to time make updates to features and this one to the photo viewer primarily centers around making comments more visible by placing them next to photo as opposed to having to scroll down to view.

And know what else is now above “the fold” so you don’t have to scroll down? Ads!

Here’s how the new photo viewer looks on its own, and compared to Google+’s photo viewer:

The re-oriented photo viewer makes ads more visible.

It looks just like Google+’s photo viewer.
